Please help a noob at modding

ok heres my dilemma. I tried to mod the commonwealth back into the UK. I continually screwed up more and more until I tried to un-install the game. When I found that the game couldnt un-install

I tried to manually un-install it by deleting everything, but its still says that HOL2 DD is there and I cant un-install it. Can someone please tell how to get the game back and how to do my mod.

I added the provinces to the UK and deleted the countries from the eug. files. However did i have to delete them just in the line of which countries in the game. Or every mention of them, because thats were i screwed up my game.

Any help would be great thanks in advance to anyone that lends a hand

Well, well details, details.

First this is the wrong forum, however I am sure a moderator can fix this along the way.

Second, let me repeat some advice here I just again (read 15 times or more ) have given elsewhere.

Mod with notepad or very, very preferably an editor like UltraEdit 32 and place two copies of HOI on the hard-drive and rename one of them your mod name. Eliminate all scenarios except 1936 in this modded one. Leave the other vanilla and refer to it only as reference, or to copy from and replace polluted files in the modded one.

Keep notes, change only one file at a time and reload the game each and every time you so change anything significate and make sure to run it forward a few weeks at least.

DO NOT make a bunch of changes in one file then another in the ORIGINAL copy and then think that somewhere along the line you will just load it up a play it. Unless you like pain and heartache, or you already are computer wiz.

Backing up your files does not even begin to cover it, because you NEED to know where the errors are.

You may want to go the technical support forum to get help at a clean uninstall and then start over as above.
