This might seem very newbieish.
But i never got the point of the gold off all the minor characters in your chourt. (Like your heirs and so on)
Does their amount of gold matter anything_?
 
If you use elective law, the strongest courtier will inherit all the gold from your court. This can be used to amass way over ten thousand ducats.
All you gotta do then is have you heir be in your court and have a high martial rating/have high prestige, and he'll get all those ducats for you to spend later on.

I did not notice this! But that IS very important.
I was always just so puzzled about those events with reward and so on.

Gold

The other charactors have gold for when you make them vassals they spend it on improving lands. Also when you bribe a vassal to be more loyal, the more gold they have the more you have to bribe to get the results!
