****** was in many ways a major negative asset to the community. We have assembled a list of infraction upon infraction, insult after insult. We have received threats, had swastika antics, multiple accounts and so on. Letting such deeds go unpunished is destructive to a community. The rules and their enforcement are there for a reason, without them we wouldn't even have a community (and not this situation either). So it is the obvious, rational choice to remove ****** from the forums. He will never return, he made xure of that.

So when people point out his positive assets (which there are), I would like to remind them about the negative ones too. His positives come at a high price. His modding work obviously are a positive something. I don't have anything against that as long as it doesn't come with more negative aspects. So as long as ****** keeps off the forums completely, no further action will be needed. Just use his mod, link to his site, play games with him, whatever you want. If he doesn't go the Byng way, he won't get the Byng treatment.

****** has agreed to never return to the forums in any way so as long as that is the case, things can go on as they have. Having an atmosphere with rules in which communities can be born and grow is worth a lot more than one mod. I'm xure if ****** would return, some of you will loathe the loss of his mod but having the rules and atmosphere made into a mockery will have far more farreaching detrimetal consequences for the forums and ultimately your community.

The best would of course be to have both the positives so I suggested so to ******. His negative aspects are kept out, his positive ones may remain. He has agreed to this.

****** will undoubtedly post somewhere else about how he sees all of this and I would wager that it has some very unnice references to me in there and some misconceptions he has but ****** is just work to me. So there you go.

Oh, and the reason I posted this here is because people actually took me up on my reference to the rules and PMed me quite a bit and this is a lot easier than answering a host of PMs. But thank you for taking my hint and keep doing so :D I also wanted to take the opportunity to outline some issues that often get forgotten when talking about contributions to the community.

Also, people should be informed about the policy as to not get themselves into trouble. You would think it would be rather obvious that assisting ****** in any way to break the rules again would be not done. "Speaking for him" for example should not be done for example.

This way they also know they won't get into trouble for playing games with ******, using his mod or whatever. Any change in that regard will be announced and will only happen if those become vehicles for ******'s breaking of the rules again. Which ****** indicated won't happen again so this is hopefully the end of it. If not, I will have no qualms doing whatever is necessary.

As was posted before, Ryo-ken agreed to never come back to the forum. In return people could play with his mod, play with him in games. As long as he stayed away from here, no futher action was necessary.

Now, as I posted a while ago:
Having an atmosphere with rules in which communities can be born and grow is worth a lot more than one mod. Ryo came back under another identity.
Because Ryo broke a clear deal, his mod will from now on banned on this forum. We recognise that this would mean too much trouble for ongoing multiplayer games using the mod and will allow those to finish.

However, new campaigns started will have to use another mod.

Violation of this will lead to threads being closed and further action being taken.

If you have any questions about this, do not post here. PM me about it.

Say you are the admin of a forum. A person breaks the rules. Not once, not twice, but time upon time. His most famous antic, which got his name banned, was mixing the Paradox logo and the swastika.

Warning him doesn't work. Banning him doesn't work.

Despite all that you still make a deal which he doesn't deserve with him that states that if he doesn't try returning his mod will be allowed to be used freely. He agrees to that. Not much later he is back with a new account causing trouble.

What do you do?

Well, you might want to make a fool out of yourselves; I prefer to not let the lunatics run the asylum.
