Feasible, yes. Worthwhile? Not really. Aside from flavor, I don't really see the point. What would it do besides increase the number of heirs you would have?

This could be a really good idea actually, think of all the drama it could potentially cause! Try keeping your realm together when your brothers declare you a bastard since you were born of a different mother or when your three wives all want to be taken to the fair.
Only if Pagans or Muslims are playable of course, I don't think Christians have multiple wives, I'm not even sure about Pagans honestly. :wacko:
 
Unless I'm mistaken it was/is considered acceptable for Muslims to have up to four wives so long as they could/can support them. No idea for pagans. Even if Muslims aren't playable, it would be helpful to portray power struggles. Or something. I don't really know.
In any event, it could be available for Christians. Desperate to expand your bloodline? Find yourself several lustful girls and hope the Pope doesn't catch on too soon. :rofl:

Don't forget the Mongols. Many of them were Christian. (Though of course they basically ignored the Pope's emissary to Karakorum after they realized he wasn't going to offer tribute and submission.)
 
How common was polygamy in the time period? Did all muslim countries have it?
 
I dont think there are records for polygamy on this period...

If Pagans and Muslims (and jewsh) are playable. There should some events chains surrounding poly marriage as below in Islam on Polygamy:

CK 1 did have polygamy, just send marriage offers everywhere at once, and hope that some say yes at the same day. Thus you can have several wives (or husbands).

Also, if two (or more) women are married to each other, they will start to have children.
 
could they just not have mistresses and have moslems not have consequences. its my understanding that a sultan with many wives still had one wife who had primary status, so the other wives can be worked the same was as mistresses.

This never happened to me. I often offered a half-dozen marriage proposals at once. Once one agreed, the others all declined.
