In my game I am the Duke of Holland, vassal of the King of Germany. My vassal, the Bishop of Kexholm and Onega, declared independence and I sieged the fortress of Kexholm. When I won the siege, I demanded that he be my vassal again, I offered to renounce my claims on Kexholm and Onega and demanded all their money. Then the pope died and I a got a message that the Bishop of Kexholm became the new pope. A few days later my peace offer was accepted.
The result of this is that, while being a duke, I have a king as my vassal and I have the offer to demand the pope to give up his title.
Now what will happen? Will I remain a kingdom when I get his title? Will he be able to create duchies below him? Will he somehow automatically become independent at the end of the month/year/when a new pope gets elected?
