What soundcard do you have in that laptop? could you post a dxdiag file for me? (here is how to do it )

Hello, I did some poking around and it seems there are more people around with your soundcard (sigmatel) and vista who have problems with choppy sound playback sometimes.

Also the fact that both your cores are reaching 100% cpu seems to indicate driver problems (we should never be taxing the second core like that).

I suggest trying to update your sound drivers. Check whatever resource your laptop manufacturer has (driver version said they were from 2005, so I'm sure newer are available). It might be a standalone sound driver, or a motherboard/system driver including the sound drivers.

Here is a suggestion i found on a forum for another game:

Yea, i worked out the problem and found a way round it. I must have posted solutions over at Dell forum.
Go to control panel > Sound. (Or right click your speaker icon; bottom right taskbar) Select "Speaker" option of your sound card under "Playback" > Properties > Enhancements > Disable all enhancements.
That seems to have solved my problem.

The tree rendering is a pretty heavy task to perform, so by easing the work for the computer it freeded up more CPU for the sound. Your computer should have no problems running both though.

Have you been playing any other newer games? Do they have similar issues?
