Port view loading time

Loading time for 3D Port View has proved to annoy people a lot.

Without the patch, you can change 3D Port into 2D Port from the Main Menu-Options-Graphical Options.

In patched version, you can also do this directly from the 3D Port Loading screen itself. And you have 3 options:


1. 3D Port View for those who appreciate the visuals and are prepared to pay for it in the form of loading time. Important and informative game tips in loading screen.

2. 2D Port View with still image of the port. You still get the loading screen, although there is no loading time, so that you can see the game tips. I really advise for this setting for some time, as the tips give good insight on the game.

3. 2D Port view without loading screen or any pause: You instantly get into the port from the Strategic Level.

Regarding point number 2, is there any file where I could read all the tips at once? Or is it all inside the .exe?

The tips can be found from file _strings.txt which is located in "East India Company\Data\Locales\en" folder

2D port loading.

For me there is no load or loading screen even, once I check that I don't want 3D port. Maybe came with patch, I guess.

3d port view

Hello,

I recently downloaded this game on steam, (designers cut v. 1.10) and there is no option for 3d port view. There is no option in the graphics option to enable it and there is no port view tutorial (even though i can find the text for it in the tutorial files). How on earth do i enable this? I assume there is a the option in the config file somewhere, but i have tried changing the configs 2d port view from '0' to '1' and back again with no success. I would really like to have the enjoyment of added graphics.
