Hi,
I'm not really sure if this is a bug, but this seemed to be the most appropriate forum to ask this question.
I'm playing as Portugal (with the patch) and I got an event (which I dont remember exactly). The event gave me a choice and I ended up choosing a path that resulted in a +6 revolt risk in Oporto because I figured it would last a set number of years and then disappear. Its now years later and Oporto still has the +6 revolt modifier. This is quite frustrating as I'm focusing on an overseas empire and have a minimal miltary presence at home and due to Portugal's low manpower/supply limit, it gets expensive to station an additional large force at home to quell the constant revolts in Oporto. Is this supposed to happen?
Thanks.

It's a bug in the events. You get revoltrisk in Oporto from The Duke of Coimbra-event, but it's not cancelled (similar to the infinite Novgorod revolts for Paradox/betazoids).

It is a bug that the revolt risk is not removed at some point. I've opened a bug report on it.

In the meantime, you can fix this if you are adventerous:

1) Open a save file in NotePad or WordPad. Save files are in. ..\Scenarios\Save Games folder where ever you installed EU II.

2) Find the following string, "id = 434".

3) You should see, "province_revoltrisk = 6".

4) If that line is exact, delete it. If the number is 8 or something, subtract 6 from it.

5) Save the save file.

Ah, I see Havard beat me to the punch.

Just out of curiousity, when the bug is fixed how long are these temporary revolt modifiers supposed to last?

That's the problem... the province_revoltrisk command is not temporary... It runs until cancelled (or the province is taken by another country)

They arn't temporary. :)

It's up to the event script writer to find a way of reversing the effect. There are several ways of creating revolt risk with events. The other ways have a default time period (12 months, I think). This event does not.

Beat me again! We are on the same vibe today, Havard. :D

My post had more info, again. :p

For shame! We have 3 mods spamming. Perhaps I'll have to flex my new modly powers here. It must be the beer from the inauguration party influencing us. :D

Anyway, problem sorted out with a bug report. Sean and I are closing threads once things have been sorted out one way or the other.
