I understand there is a 4x4 grid limitation to the "buildable lot" in the game. This, of course, makes the farming "district" a bit of a joke as it does not allow for sprawling farm and ranch lands. With the imposed limitations, I have a proposed work-around that might not be too difficult to mod and implement while providing the appropriate aesthetic.

What if the "spawned" 4x4 farm is represented by a farmhouse, while 4x4 plopped fields could be added with additional 4x4 units representing barns and other out-buildings and so forth. In this way, once the game spawns a farm building and makes the associated economic impact, we could plop as many fields and other out-buildings we want to create the right feel and aesthetic. The plops fields could also provide additional economic boosts to the farmhouse unit representing the larger scale of the farm. The fields would not necessarily spawn, but the imagery would at least allow for large scale farms.

yeah plopping is an answer, but some people do not really like plopping things. A solution "inbetween" would be to build and import lots more farm fields without barriers around them ingame. Then when zoning agricultural we would have much more fields "growing" with fewer enclosed ones and fewer buildings in the zone. It would not be ideal but it would already be an improvement.

Definitely agree the farm area should not have borders/fences. But without plopping I am not sure how you can manage or control the "growing" of fields without interruption unless you could paint a field area and the game would restrict the growth of elements within the defined field. This aspect of the game is my biggest disappointment. I hope they can find a way to allow expansive fields of farm land to develop properly.

Waiting to someone mod it, I will replace all-but-one farm assets with one yellow field without fence in the asset editor. I will preserve one barn maybe.

Then i will build big districts of farm industry with long straight gravel roads, and farms beetween them. Thay should look bigger then, like 24x8 tiles or something.

It should be possible without any modding, only the asset editor.
