Post darwin clerks seem to produce twice as many RPs as pre-darwin clerks. However Post darwin clergy produce 5% of their pre-darwin RPs. This is in contradiction with the tooltip which suggests that clergy -100%, clerks +100%.

One side effect of this is that a 1/2 clerk, 1/2 clergy country will gain more RP/month after Darwin.

If you meant 50% not 5% I understand the bug report :). But I think the tooltip is wrong rather than the numbers.

I'm assuming that the tooltip is automatically generated from the invention text (427):

command = { type = pop_research_mod which = clergymen value = -100 }

However aftter this invention clergy produce 5% (1/20) of the RPs they did previously (more than slaves, but only 20% of the RPs that farmers produce).

I suspect that the pop_research_mod command dosen't deal with negitives properly? That command does deal with clerks +100% correctly (same invention next line).

Did you have a +5% education tech? That might account for the residual.

No. The clerks were producing 200% of before, and the clergy 5% of before. A 5% education tech (aren't they all 10%?) would increase both of these (or neither).

I was doing a series of experiments to work out what the formula for RPs generated was (pre and post Darwin), so I was being very careful about factors that could influence the results.

I started two Montenegro games with the country POPs all being converted to clergy. In one game I gave Montenegro the Darwin invention and the country still earn 5% of what it did in the other game. Because this was so unexpected I have done another 3 (more complex) tests which all support the same conclusion.
