It ain't a wargame without miniatures, and I remember some of you folks from the old forums being pretty talented and creative with yours. Show off your classics and works in progress - and maybe we'll add to them when some old favorites return later this year.

So here are the first ones I ever made a serious effort with, trying out different regimental schemes for units from each of the Great Houses and a handful of other forces.

Here I'm using a couple of Atlases from the intro box sets for more practice. It also shows the difference between the somewhat messed-up plastics Catalyst first put out (on the right) to their later ones (on the left).

Decided to do a 3025 company and a "reinforcement" company of later mechs for each house. House Marik's 1st Free Worlds Guards went first, because they'd take the most work. Since taking this picture, most of the ones in the rear are properly finished.

And just a personal favorite, rocking my school colors.

Have at it, folks!

Here are my minis from the 3025 era that correspond to the units in HBS' BattleTech:

Hell yeah! My other favorite thread is BACK.

I wish I had more confidence and proper tools for proper kitbashing. The closest I've done so far is glue leftover bits and bobs from IWM variants to other chassis.

Recognition of House Arano. Nice.

And did you line up your Kurita mechs so the striping would match across them all from just the right angle? It sure looked that way when you panned across them, and messed with my head for a moment. :p

Guess the Dazzle-camo was working then... ;)

Couple of shots of the Kanji banners. Wrote them with a .005 Mircon ink pen.

Dunno about the rest of you folks, but I've been busy with my minis. I finally finished my two companies of the 2nd Free Worlds Guards, complete with decals and basing! I've actually forgotten how long I've been working on these.

Now if only I had a decent camera on my phone, so I don't have to borrow my nephew's and have him email them to me, only to discover the focus wasn't good on some of them. :p

(I'll likely edit in better pictures if I happen to get them.)

First, the Succession War-era company:

Marik Succession War.jpg

And now a company of various post-Clan Invasion models, apparently using ECM to mess with the camera's target lock:

Marik Post-Invasion.jpg

I'm especially happy with the Wraith and Banshee. The Wraith has always been a favorite since I first learned about it, but the Banshee... I dunno, I just really like how it turned out.

Wraith and Banshee.jpg

Next up, two companies of the 3rd Lyran Guard. The Zeus is already finished as a kind of proof of concept, and several others are pretty much done except for the fine details, and a coat of deeper blue for many in the rear.

Steiner WIP.jpg

After this it's smooth sailing... lots of brigades with nice flat color schemes, maybe some highlights, and definitely no more white as a major color. Man, white does not like to go on smooth.

What colors do people use for Davion green? I have the whole Tamiya acrylic line, but nothing looks quite right.
If not hand mixing it:
Vallejo Panzer aces Allied forces pack has a bunch of suitable greens.

Us army olive drab, and others ect.

I layer though. You might want one of the darker ones or one of the the more saturated ones depending.

I used to use citadel and mix my own. I'm thinking of trying out these..(prices in $Aus)

Thanks. I ended up going with Tamiya XF-67 NATO Green.

Here are the results so far. They're both works in progress.

That's just the basecoat, but I'm satisfied so far. Now I just need to find enough of the paint for the rest of the company. For markers I'm waffling between the Kittery Borderers - to my knowledge the only science fiction unit ever named after my home town - or as a mercenary company using my grandfather's (historically accurate but unfortunately also racist) WWII unit insignia:

Decisions, decisions...

so after building a new pc i felt it looked really lonely and bare in the case so i did a thing....
the minis were all painted back in the 90s.
they are from FASA 1604 and 1674 the 3rd edition box set and minis set from '92 and '93
not sure about the 2 Atlas..but then i have at least 3 kinds of plastic minis along with lead/pewter/alloy and 100s of cardboard minis

couldnt decide which ones to put in so put in all whose paint job and pieces were still intact.
