I was recently playing a game as the Saffarid in 867AD and came across some odd situations that appeared to be glitches to me (never encountered before so wanted to ask). Very frustrating game...
I was still at war when a independence war erupted... and shortly after a third independence war started. Utter mayhem. There were enemy factions and armies everywhere.
The first was that I had occupied all of one faction that broke off and they seemed to still be able to raise armies. I thought when you had all the regions occupied there was nowhere they could raise an army. They appeared on one of their castles that was under my control.
The second was I was chasing an army where I would arrive in 2 days and they wouldn't get away for 6 days. I arrived and expected a battle to ensue but they were able to continue fleeing for the 4 days and get away. They're were red (enemy) and for 4 days we occupied the same territory and no battle. They were moving and NOT being routed.
I have never encountered these situations before. I thought maybe it was an odd/rare glitch because I had 3 ongoing wars that "overlapped." Enemies of enemies who were enemies to each other all moving around in disarray.
I was (sadly) playing Ironman so I never caught a screenshot in tine or created a save file for the instance.
One other thing I noticed that was odd but I probably missed something was that every army by the end I did engage didn't retreat at all. Even if they had hundreds of troops, they were completely annihilated. But then they could seemingly be rallied in an instance back home. Usually when the army is annihilated it takes tine to rebuild. I did check to see if they hired mercenaries... did not appear to be such, but again, maybe they had already started consscrioting new troops ahead of time so no idea.
