Hello,

Some of you encountered problems when starting playing the Beta. We are very sorry for this and are working on fixes that will be released as soon as possible. In the meantime, here are temporary solutions:

The Beta crashes after the Graphics Autosetting
Kill the game's process in Windows by pressing "Ctrl+Alt+Shift", then select the "SteelDivision.exe" process and click on "End task". Start the game again, you will see a prompt suggesting to use the last working configuration, answer "No".

The Beta crashes after changing the graphic options
Solution n°1:
This can happen when the game is set in "Fullscreen". You can change these settings in the Option.ini file located in C:\Users\USERNAME\Saved Games\EugenSystems\SteelDivision

Open the .ini file, and change the value WindowFormStyle = 1 to WindowFormStyle = 2.
Save the file and start the game again.

Solution n°2:
Change the graphic options one by one. Do not change the Shader Quality and Terrain Resolution settings.

Solution n°3:
  • Launch the game
  • Close the game (it generates the "last known config file")
  • Launch the game
  • Go to "settings" > preset "Custom" > "Hardware instancing > No"
  • Apply > the game crashes
  • Copy the content of "Option.ini" in "LastKnowGoodOptions.ini"
  • When the game prompts "load last good config", click '"Yes"
  • Don't change anything

I'm using Windows 7, and the game won't start / crashes
In order to play Steel Division: Normandy 44 on Windows 7, you need to have the Service Pack 1 installed. You can download it here or use Windows Update.

I have two graphic cards in SLI/Crossfire, and I'm having problems
Try to deactivate the SLI configuration. On nvidia cards, go to the Nvidia Control Panel, and click on "Do not use SLI technology" in the "3D settings" menu. On AMD cards, you can configure the Crossfire for Steel Division following this process. Once deactivated, delete your "Option.ini" file located in C:\users\<your_username>\Saved Games\EugenSystems\SteelDivision.

The game doesn't run properly on my AMD card
Try to deactivate or uninstall the Raptr Gaming Evolved software.

The game doesn't launch (error 0xc000007b)
If your game does not event start, download all Windows Updates for your computer.

For Windows 7 owner, you may have to follow this procedure:
We have been able to identify an issue some W7 owner encountered: you must have at least the Service Pack 1 installed, in order for the redist to get properly installed.

So, if you are under W7 and are having issue launching the game, you have to:
- update your Windows to install the Service Pack 1

https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/15090/windows-7-install-service-pack-1-sp1
- if you already have Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 Redistributable (x64), uninstall it and install it again properly (making sure to take the x64 version) from here:

Missing File Privileges
Uninstall the beta from your Steam library, reboot your computer and reinstall the beta in safe mode. Run Steam as administrator

Content file locked
It’s a Steam issue. Erase the .exe file of the game and restart it.

Connexion and stability problems in multiplayer
  • Restart your PC
  • Deactivate your firewall
  • Relaunch the game
