Im creating a custom family in Mide, to repace the Bishopric. Everything is working fine except Meath demands I relinquish the title within a few days, and its off to war we go.

What do I need to edit to convince Meath I am a loyal vassal, and to avoid war with them?

Meath tries to revoke your title, because the duke of Meath has sons without land. AI always revokes titles from other than sons when sons need titles. Only fix I can think of is to kill the duke or all his kids. Better to kill the duke I guess.

Ah, I didnt realise the AI had become that cunning, but now that you mention it I can see it in play - Munster revoking the titles of his two vassals in order to put his sons in power. Excellent.

Ive found that gifting Meath 100 gold at the start is often enough to keep them from declaring war, albeit they still demand my title. At which point I usually pledge allegiance to the King of Scotland, if only to have a reason to force a marriage between my son and Margaret Atheling. Stupid AI wont marry her to me willingly. Fie!
