OK, so I started a war with P/L and managed to annex their ally China. Now, every major country DOW's me.
The bad news is that I can't raise armies like I should; the recruiting tents are dimmed half the time. War fatigue, I guess.
The good news is that most major-owned cities in the Caribbean and S. America are UNfortified (YES!). So, I peel off a little 14k army (that I really need elsewhere) and send it in a little fleet to the Carribean. I love it: free cities! So, I hit the 'unload' key and, all of a sudden, it is revealed that each island, while unfortified, possesses a 30k+ army apiece. Well, that's another excellent plan (born of genius) that was spoiled by an uncooperative enemy.
So, I want to sail off to other 'opportunities', right? Well, I can't cancel the troop unload. I thought the cancel button did that but it isn't working. Does anyone have any ideas how to back out of a troop unload gracefully?
Oh, and would it help to mention that the army displayed is NOT the army actually onboard the fleet in question. I mean, there is NO WAY that there are 120 cannon on board. I'd appreciate any help in solving this. It's July of 1792 and I'd like to wrap up the campaign with a positive ending. Thanks.
