I dled it, installed it and yet the game reads '1.00'
Also when I try to re-install the patch it gives me the message 'cant install, Road to war not found' or something like that

Sounds strange. A few preliminary questions...

1. Are you certain you installed the patch into the same directory that you installed HoI?

2. Are you certain you downloaded the correct patch?

If the answer to both of the above is "yes" then I would try uninstalling everything and then re-installing. See the stickies at the top of this forum for a "how to" on that.

If you still don't have the correct version up and running after that, please provide system information (see the stickies at the top of the forum), version of the game you have, etc. (see sticky at top as to what the mods here will need).

Edit: just noticed your thread moved here from GD so I guess the answer to #1 is "yes". How about #2? Is the version you have definitely from SF?

Thanks for the prompt response Mr. T
I indeed re-installed the game and it works fine. Thanks

Just wondering, is the Scandanivan Version starts with a Pan Vision logo instead of SF ?

Installing the Scandinavian Patch (1.01) from Pan Vision (downloaded from Paradox) proves impossible on my Win2000 job computer. It simply says that HoI hasn't been installed on my computer...

And it obviously has. I've done that. Uninstalled the bastard as well, re-installed, tried to patch again to no avail.

Now, I've done this both as an ordinary user in the network and as administrator. Furthermore, I even moved the patch into the HoI folder.

A bit frustrating. You see, it's Friday, and Norg planned not have a busy day at work. :D

It should. SF is just North America.

Uhm. I think I solved my problem. It does of course have to do with the rights assigned to you as a user, and that Windows never really tell you what went wrong.

If you're not admin when installing the game, you'll be unable to patch it. And indeed run the game.

So, you need to have full rights over your own computer. Do not contact your local network operator, as they tend to think people playing HoI at work are lazy bums. :D
