Hello,

I am encountering the following error whenever I try to install the 1.2 patch for EU: Rome:

"The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again."

I have done the following:
1. Downloaded and tried to run the patch using the update link in the game
2. Downloaded and tried to run the patch using the link in the Tech Support forum

I am running Windows Vista and am running the patch with administrative rights. Any thoughts?

Jason

I just downloaded the copy linked in this forum, and it works fine for me, so the problem is definitely in your link or PC. The file comes down as 5,848,525 bytes, what size does yours report? If it's any different then your file is indeed corrupt. One possibility is disabling any anti-virus app you might have, while you are downloading and installing it.

I've tried downloading the patch to another computer and copying it over across the network with the same issue. The file size is the same as you mention: 5,848,525 bytes.

I've found some other issues mentioned on-line, but I have already tried disabling my AV and firewall. Other executables are downloading and running just fine.

Could this be a Vista thing?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated...

Just an update...

I've tried downloading the patch to another computer on my network with Windows XP installed. I get the same error in XP...

I'm going to try downloading it at work and see if it gives the error when I try to run it. If it works - I'll try bringing it home on a memory card and seeing if it runs...
