Problem installing Patch 1.03

Hi,

I have succesfully downloaded the 1.03 patch but during the installation process i receive the following error message ->

" The File C:\ProgramFiles\StrategyFirst\HeartsofIron\editor.exe
is not a valid previous version and could not be upgraded".

It then halts the installation process and wont proceed beyond this point. I have tried re-installing the game and applying the patch, i have tried installing the patch after successfully installing the 1.02 patch but the same error message occurs.

I have the NA Version and the Publisher is Strategy First.

Any ideas on what is wrong ?

When you reinstalled HOI did you completely remove all trace of the game from your system first? Including delete directories, and fix up the registry. you can find instructions on doing this in the sticky thread at the top of this forum.

Hi,

I read through all your above "Sticky" postings but cant find any instructions on deleting my HOI Registry settings or deleting my HOI directories after uninstalling the game. I apologise if i have missed something . Can you help me out with where i might find them or what they are ?

Go to the self help guide, then notice that #1 which says "Uninstall HOI" is a link. click it and you should have the instructions.

I uninstalled and re-installed as per the on line instructions and still got the exact same error when installing the patch(1.03) as mentioned above.
