I have been playing EU on my girlfriend's laptop and it works great. Only had 2 crashes, but that was all at one particular time, I might have forgotten to close down everything but explorer and systray that time. Since then I have played for hours with no problem. BUT, I can't play EU at all on my own desktop, which has better specs than the laptop.
Computer make and model: Gateway minitower, 450 Mhz
Windows version: 98
DirectX version: 8 (from the game)
Total system RAM: 64MB
Total hard drive space: 18 GB (almost all free)
Video Card make and model: (info from the DirectX Setup screen) Name: Rage Pro Turbo AGP 2X, Manufacturer: ATI Tech - Enhanced
Sound Card make and model: (info from the DirectX Setup screen) Name: SBPCI Direct Sound Driver, Manufacturer: Creative
My computer freezes after the introduction movie. It doesn't crash back to desktop, it just freezes and I have to push the reset button.
Things I have already tried:
--Updated my video and sound drivers.
--Closed every program with control-alt-delete except Explorer and Systray.
--Put my graphics acceleration down to one notch to the right of none.
--Put my sound acceleration down to one notch to the right of none.
Nothing has worked so far.
