Problem with changing end date. How do you do this?

I have tried using the guide posted Seboden, to change my RomeGame.exe to extend the end date of the game. But I cant locate the 22e2db and 22e2dc strings in my hex editor (Have tried both Hex Workshop and Hex editor nero). I bought the game through gamersgate, so is there any difference in this version compared to the retail one? I have included a screenshot from the hex editor, which should illustrate that the number dosent exist. The closest number I got is 22e2d8.
