Problem with connecting

I and my freind try to play together but we cant connect...
We tryed Valkyrienet but that is deactivated now as i saw.
At Internet and Lan connection we never found each other
also we tried to find us with hamach but it also doenst work.
can someone help us

Are you sure both of you have the same version of the game? If you don't one of you will need to update your version to match each other, otherwise you cannot play.

yeah im sure
cause before that we had the problem of two different versions (at that time we could try it valkyrienet)
but now we have the same and valk is shutted....

The problem is probably due to your firewall settings, some security softwares block multiplayer games, to solve this, all firewall services have an option allowing certain things to get through, it should show a list of programs, check the box that says 'Hearts of Iron 2'. Ask your friend to do this for if yours is ticked, don't think it is not the problem for your friend may have it blocked but if for you and your friend it is ticked and doesn't work i'm afraid I don't know
