Problem with installation

I cannot install the game, a message will appear once the 100% has been reached saying 'String NOT_INSTALLED was not found in string table' I have to accept it and then it says: 'NOT_INSTALLED' and finally it seems to uninstall everything.

Please help is required, I really want to start playing as soon as possible.

I have a Toshiba Portégé 3110CT running in Windows NT, so there should be no problem with requirements

I see the same error. I tried installing DirectX 7 seprately, but that did not help. I am running Windows NT SP5 on a Dell Latitude.

Any answers out there?

I am using a UK version (1.07) on a US English NT laptop. Does this help? (I really want to get it working. I have a 10hr flight on Saturday and want to get into it!).

You have purchased the UK version and when you try to install it from the CD you get this error? Do I understand this correctly?

Yes, I installed 7.0 for another game. I then updated it to the version on the UK disk. That did not seem to help.

I did switch to a US disk and that worked! The only problem is that DirectX 8 that came with it does not support NT. The DirectX install failed, but EU runs fine with the 7 version from the UK disk.

I noticed the installer changed a lot betweem the UK and the US version. I guess using the UK version on NT (on a US machine?) isn't working.

Thanks for your help (you questions made me wonder about language issues). I will consider it fixed and now I start playing!

Yes, the installations are very different and it seems we unfortunately have a problem with the UK installation on NT machines. We are looking into that and I hope i will have a solution early next week. 6:30 PM here so I will call it a day.

Yes, it seemst that the problem is with NT (I also have the UK version), I convince the IT guys to change my office computer to Windows 2000 and it works fine (it was not that fun when they saw me taking the computer home), now the problem is to convince them to change also my notebook. If you find a solution it would still be good.
