I have the Asian version of the game and have been trying to install patch 1.07 (Typhoon version). I install the game and then attempt to install the patch but it keeps saying I have not installed the game yet. Not only have I installed the game I have played it at version 1.04. Why is the patch not picking this up?:(
 
Most likely it is not picking up the path to the game from the registry file.

Two options.
1) Edit the registry to the correct path.
2) Reinstall and use the default drive and path.
 
Are you sure that you have the right patch. Who's logo is on the CD?
 
Recently I reinstalled EU2 to have fun. However I got the same problem exactly as described in the previous post. It is a Typhoon Asia English version. I can play with v1.04, but not patching it. I tried to download two v1.07 patches, one from Paradox and the other from Typhoon Games. Both got the same problem telling me no EU2 was installed.

By the way I don't know how to edit registry. :confused:

Well you did not follow the instructions because you said you do not know how to edit the registry and the instructions cover editing the registry.

So I am a little confused here.
 
Sorry. I did not follow every instruction, just where it is appropriate. First, I am using Windows XP. Second, there is no uninstall.exe or icon under EU2 folder. So I just used 'Add or Remove Program' under control panel. Third, I tried edit the registry as mentioned and there was no such key. :eek:
 
Did you look under both Paradox and Strategy First?
 
Could be but I think they write thier own installer, so I don't know what it might be under. Try Typhoon. You may have to contact them about this issue.

You may also try and delete your internet cache (tempFiles) and redownload the patch incase your first copy got corrupted.
 
If you try and install the game without first uninstalling it, does it let you or does it tell you the game is already installed?
 
When the CD autoplay after installation, it still shows that no installation is done since the 'Play' icon is not activated. As a result I can reinstall the game once again without problem. However I can play the game by directly running the EU2 icon under "C:\Program Files\Typhoon Games\EU2\eu2.exe"
 
Since they write their own installer I am afraid you will have to contact them. Sorry. :(
