Problema al iniciar el juego.

Buenas tardes, compañeros,
esta mañana he actualizado los drivers gráficos de NVIDIA ya que los tenía bastante desactualizados. Actualmente tengo la versión 497.29 que ha salido hoy mismo.

Desde entonces, se me queda congelado el juego en la pantalla "Europa Universalis IV", justo después darle a "Jugar" en el Paradox Launcher.
He tratado de arreglarlo reinstalando el juego por completo, pero no ha servido para nada.

¿Tenéis alguna alternativa?
He buscado por internet este problema y no he encontrado nada.

No sé si me lo que me pasa es exactamente igual, el juego me lanza pero se queda la pantalla congelada con el launcher y ni me deja tocar el administrador de tareas para cerrarlo, tengo que cerrar sesión en Windows.

Pues despues de probarlo, me pasa lo mismo, me queda colgado, no sera despues de la ultima actualización ?
todo congelado, solo reiniciando el ordenador he podido salir

Hola a todos,

De vez en cuando se produce este tipo de errores en el juego. Mi recomendación es que vayáis al subforo dedicado a Technical Support, y allí abráis un post siguiendo las instrucciones del mismo. Si tenéis problemas con el inglés, aparte del siempre útil traductor de Google, creo que algún forero o yo mismo podemos ayudaros por aquí.

En caso de que no se trate un problema técnico relacionado con vuestro PC, drivers, instalación, etc., podría deberse a un bug del juego. En ese caso, la recomendación siempre es abrir otro post nuevo en el subforo de Bug Reports, de nuevo siguiendo las instrucciones relativas a CTD/Freeze.

En todo caso, no solo podemos intentar solucionar vuestros problemas específicos, si no que puede dar pie a resolver bugs del propio juego, por lo que los reportes a través de estos canales siempre nos ayudan.

Normalmente la solución es seleccionar “Pantalla completa sin marco” en los ajustes de juego en el launcher.

@Pavía : Mucha gente con tarjetas gráficas de nvidia tienes ese problema. Sabes si los programadores saben de este problema y intentan solucionarlo algún día? O el soporte technico no ha comunicado cuanta gente tienen este problema, porque el workaround “Pantalla completa sin marco” funciona para toda la gente.

¡Buenas! He intentado reproducir el problema, sin suerte. Jugar en pantalla completa funciona perfectamente en mi caso (con tarjeta NVIDIA también). Si os sigue ocurriendo el problema, lo mejor como comenta @Pavía es:

Necesitaríamos también un zip con los logs de la carpeta "...Documentos\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\Logs" y un zip de la carpeta del crash, si es que el juego genera un crash report (..."Documentos\Paradox Interactive\Europa Universalis IV\crashes")

Espero que es permitido responder en ingles aunque es el foro en español (mi español es muy rusty y seria muy deficil para mi explicar lo bien en español).

I help several people per week with this problem and I could ask them to provide you the dxdiag output and log files to help you debug this problem. If you want to find more affected players yourself, you can search for "Try to change the display mode to borderless fullscreen in the launcher" on the paradox forums, steam forums and reddit to find the hundreds of people to whom I have given the advice to switch to borderless fullscreen. About 90% of them have the problem that the screen freezes when starting eu4 and borderless fullscreen helps in about 95% of the cases(I assume the others have a different problem).

When I tried to search for possible sources for this problem, I found a bugreport for the Panda3D game engine which describes very similar symptoms. Maybe eu4 does the same which that game engine did and thus got the same problem with nvidia cards. That bugreport suggests that the freezing only happens if the notification for the GeForce Experience overlay is active. Maybe the difference in your tests is that it is not active in your system.

Apologies @grotaclas, missed your message. For most users, the best way would be through the Technical Support forums, since this is a tricky one and not a bug report per se.

Tienes una version del launcher muy viejo(2022.12). Te ayuda si borras el launcher con los sigientes instrucciones?

First use the windows uninstall function to uninstall "Paradox Launcher v2"(if it is there). And then delete the launcher directories(if they exist):

• C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Programs/Paradox Interactive/
• C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Local/Paradox Interactive/
• C:/users/<UserName>/AppData/Roaming/Paradox Interactive/launcher-v2/
• Documents/Paradox Interactive/.cpatch/
• every directory in Documents/Paradox Interactive/ that starts with launcher-v2

Afterwards you can start the game from steam again to reinstall the launcher.
