problems, help

Ok, i'm new to HoI2 multiplayer, and i have two problems.

1.) Whenever i try to right-click on a flag to choose a country, it doesnt work. I have to ask the host to give me the country i want.

2.) I can't see other player's messages, just the host's. What is the problem and what do i do for both? Please help.

1. This is not a problem. Its just the way MP works. The only selectable countries are chosen by the host. You're not supposed to be able to select your country like in SP. The host will choose which countries are playable.

2. This sounds like a router problem. It is quite common and is usually solveable by opening up the appropriate ports. Please refer to the sticky on the multiplayer page for information on how to configure your router. If that page is unhelpful, I would try and contact some of the MP veterans and see what they can do to help you. ICQ is a winderful tool to do this as most MP'ers have ICQ and have posted their number.

I wish I could help you with the router problem, but I'm clueless as to how they work.

Darn, so am i. Oh well, thanks for you help. And as for problem one...i really wish we had the ability to choose which country we want. In fact, i'm gonna go post in the enhancements suggestions forum right now! *marches off.*

If you're really having a lot of router problems and can't solve them with the information posted here, go into the EU2 Multiplayer forum. There are tons of players there and you'd you'd likely get any assistance you require.
