Hello people.

About a year ago a number of people from the Polish EU community forum (EUFI) gathered in an attempt to adapt the Aberration mod to Kasperus' map. Apart from a simple conversion, we're planning to add some modifications to the scenario itself - like additional events, playable countries and so on. However, we've recently encoutered a problem we are unable to deal with.

The mod seems to be playable, all the events fire up properly and the game is stable... But somewhere near the 1440s something screws up. The game carries on as if everything remained perfectly allright, but the saves done beyond a certain date are corrupted - at about 2/3 of reload progress the game encounters a critical error and makes a classic CtD.

We've tried to pinpoint some possible causes, but without much success. Event, monarch and leader files - all seem to be quite allright. I've also tried to briefly examine the saves, but I can't guess what's wrong. Does any member of the Aberration/Interregnum Team (Or anyone else) have an idea how to fix this problem or where should we look to find its reason?

Which version were you trying to convert?

Converting Inter to WATK, and adding new content as well? Sounds like a pretty major project. How far have you got?

The person to talk to is either ArchDuke (if you're working from the original Aberration) or MattyG (if it's Interregnum, for which Matty is chief editor). Those two are the best-informed about the mods so are most able to help, and if they haven't noticed this post, I'm sure they'll be interested to hear about more contributions to the Abe/Inter family.

We're working on Abe 1.08. Using Interregnum could be an interesting option, but since we're more familliar with normal Abe, I think we'll stick to the original idea. Apart from that, adding some new features (Such us Silesia as a major cauntry with events, leaders, monarchs and so on) should be much easier in such a case. :)

OK, I'll try to get in touch with ArchDuke then. Thanks for replying, I've started to lose hope. :)

Replied to your pm.

After Interregnum leaves Beta, meaning that the game is solid to 1650, then I was thinking to convert it to WatK4 anyway.

However, the task of converting events is the tough thing. It's one thing to divide provinces up, that's the (relatively) easy task, but creating and converting events is the big challenge.

Doing this to Aberration will be much easier for you, as there are far fewer events to convert. However, note that a lot of the events have bugs, triggers that don't work and commands that are incorrect, so you will want to be vigilant when rewiritng them.

Good luck. :)

Tsk, at least here, the Abe 1.09 works like a charm, even in 10 player LAN games.;)

Tsk yourself. I was trying to be helpful.

Having reviewed every event in Aberration, I am well aware of the bugs. ;)

Was that just a typo or have you actually released a new version of Aberration?

As the last release was quite stable, I actually concentrated more on getting Aberration done for EuIII.;)
