As a big fan of long counterfactual histories, I became very excited upon learning that you could go from Crusader Kings to Hearts of Iron 2. However, I have encountered some problems trying to convert from EU II to Victoria: Revolutions. I keep getting an error message, when I try to load the converted file, saying that Tripoli needs Medina (the first game I tried) or that Tripoli needs Petra.

Having played through EU II twice I'm a bit frustrated, and figure there must be something I can do to at least see how the world unfolded. At the very least I know history was forever altered, since I won a large colonial empire for Corsica (India, Australia, South Africa, and a few African and Indonesian bits) and Iceland (in a separate game, Iceland ruled the Caribbean, Eastern US and Canada.

I managed to solve my own problem - there seems to be something hard-coded for Tripoli for some reason. I was able to solve the problem by editing the countries file, such that no countries turned into Tripoli (Tripoli will still exist, because some of its territory is covered by permanent fog of war in EU II).

For future reference, questions about the EU2Vic converter belong in its subforum. Have fun with your game! :)
