i've read some threads, also got the hotfix, but my vr crashes, when i try to export it (also makes no file). It's a game with china (civilized since 1860)with about 150K indu. points, 2,4 G people, 1,6K Mil. Power, conquered whole Asia (India just bought from Uk for only 50M cash) + Russia and even 42% craftsmen and 23% clerks with 8000 pops in factories (maybe i would gain through them too high techteams ^^) and i really wanna play with this imba china in hoi2 .... The save game also have a size of 16.716 Kb. Plz, I need really help (also overwritten the spanish techteam with argentina)

The conversion have some issues with ultra high scores of anything, it also crashed when i tried to export my 400 million uruguay game apperantly because it cant handle so much manpower in a single province.

hm, ai china also gets till 1936 1G people, but they arent civilzed and maybe thats also important for the manpowercalculation. What i know is, that in hoi2 the max ic in one province, is 99 ....
Btw 400M with uruguay is also very nice

Similar problem

I'm playing as prussia (never became germany) my industrial score is 15000+ (about double of usa, maybe that could be a prob). A population of 214mil and 3000manpower (i'm also a democratie). I took some land from denmark, russia, hungaria, and france (they started it :p)

Maybe i just did something wrong during converting, but if i load it on dd it will just freeze when reading the scenario.

I wanne play as super Prussia in dd :(

15000industrial score isnt very much and shouldnt cause any problems at all, when the game freeze see if you can alt+tab and find an error box, othervise its next to impossible to locate the problem.

OK, seems that something went wrong during converting, if i try to export victoria will crash, but it will make a file.

Then when loading in dd it will give a read error on that file

Which error on what file? Its kinda important.

I've tried several things to try and get my save file to convert successfully but each time it's gone black and crashes .

I've tried several things to try and alleviate it . Some have worked some have not .

I compared the manpower level (top left of the screen manpower) of my save file country and another save file that DID convert . I changed the manpower to that of the properly converted one but it still gave me a crash . I went ahead and arbitrarily freed a bunch of sattelites and the test game DID convert . However , at this time i'm unsure if it's determined by the number of countries in the game , WHICH countries in the game need to be freed (for example , a represenative of each HOI2 faction ? [allied , comintern , axis ]) or the various attributes subtracted from my country by the freed countries (population , province manpower , individual provinces , etc ?)

I've been trying to systematically test the easiest of these variables , which would be the number of countries present . So far I've gone up to freeing 23 countries and so far each time it's still a crash . My method will be to keep going until i reach the level where conversion occurs , record how many countries it requires to convert , and then begin different tests to check if it's the number of countries or the individual countries themselves , etc that decided it . For example i will test if it's somehow related to the size of the country by (once reaching the critical mass) i switch out france for lucca to be freed as a sattelite and see if the decrease in overall land mass determintes a critical boundary and so on . I really want to find a solution to what's going on here but I'm not a coder nor am i too talented with programs but hopefully these observations will help a little for anyone out there who can help me bring my 800 year long campaign to an eventful conclusion .

p.s. i'm using the latest patches for both victoria before i updated and then the latest revolutions patch that (tried) to help the conversion

update: So I kept releasing sattelites until I got to 29 nations present in the world (including me) and it converted . However , when I attempted to load the game it said : "(Out of Range Manpower)" etc etc . I retyped the manpower manually in the save file and played the game normally .

However , to double check that it was a numerical evaluation , I went back and released 29 different nations and it CRASHED . Apparently it has something to do with the specific areas which i'm divesting . I tried releasing only those countries which would convert to the allied axis and comintern countries but it still crashed . So I believe it has something to do with the specific information within those particular areas of which , when in connection to the main country , would create a number too high to convert or something like that . Please help !

I am having a similar problem.

In my case I took Poland through EU2 and converted into V:R, then I went all of the way through 1935. I have all of the most current patches, etc. I go to convert and the game crashes to desktop.

I lack the patience or the inclination to try random satellite combinations to get a conversion, especially since I feel some pride in the nation that I built.

Well, I convert just about every game I play with Victoria and it always works. I've never tried converting from EU2 to Victoria to DD but IMO that would most defenitely have some problems, after all your converting over 3 different games.
Speaking of conversions, does anyone know what government I have to have in place in Victoria so that I get an interventionist government in DD??

I dont think current EU2 converters are compatible with Revolutions yet, that could be the problem.

I don't believe the EU2Vic converter is necessarily the problem . I tested a saved game that was CK-EU2-Vic-DD and it worked . The difference between this save file that succeeded and the other CK-EU2-Vic-DD conversions that failed is that the successful one had an empire significantly SMALLER than the one i have in the FAILED conversions . leading me to believe that it has something to do with large mathematical numbers being unable to be converted due to their volume .

Furthermore to test this theory i took one of the saved games that FAILED to convert and released sattelites to lower whatever number it may be and after having released the UK , France , USA , Austria , Bosnia-Herzegovina , Albania , Ottoman Empire , Russia , and Prussia (i owned everything else except China and Japan) it DID convert .

Can someone figure out what specific large mathematical calculation is making the conversion fail ?
