Since the patch is self extracting where you "put" the patch is irrelevant, and whether you have a partition is irrelevant, and where you installed it to is irrelevant except as where it may mess up the original registry entry.

This is a problem with the registry entry for the game.
Look at the entry for HOI2 and see what the path is, edit it to the actual path where the game is installed, you can use regedit for this.

Is this thread referring to a patch for Hearts of Iron 2 (as opposed to Heart of Iron)? We can't even get this game in retail stores (like Electronics Boutique) here in the U.S. yet and there's a patch already? I wish that I had a copy of the game to patch. Just curious.

It should be in your stores.
It would be pretty funny if we were discussing patch 1.1 for HOI1 which came out more than a year ago in the HOI2 support forum . ;)

Well I checked the regestry and it seemed fine so I uninstalled, deleted all paradox regestry entrys, restarted and then reinstalled but it still has the same problem, I don't think there are any ghosts left on this thing as I did delete the folders manually as well before the reinstall.

What happens if you try to reinstal the game without first uninstalling it?
Does it say that the game is already installed?

Is the game, as released, ver. 1.1? Just curious.

No 1.0

Otherwise there would be no need of a 1.1 patch. ;)

oh for heavens sakes, I managed to corrupt the patch copy, sorry guys its all good now.
Well glad that got sorted, since the registry was obviously good, that was the last thing that could have been wrong.

Well in this very forum, there is a big sticky thread at the top so all can see and it calls it a patch.
Although that is for convenience and people like you.

It also clearly tells you 3 different locations you can find it.

Honestly don't see the difference in wording, it says 1.1, if you prefer 1.0 play 1.0.
1.0 is very playable but if you want more enhancements then upgrade to 1.1.
I mean really, Paradox continues to upgrade their products long after release, contrary to most companies out there.

Anyway this discussion is over. This forum is not intended for arguments on the relative meaning of words.

What version is the CD you have, i.e. how/where did you buy it?
Since you do not wish to bother reading the thread, and offer no help, please do not post in this forum unless you have a problem of your own. If that is the case then read the sticky threads, then start your own thread.

If you had read the thread, you would know that the problem had nothing to do with what version he had, since the problem was due to the download being corupted. ;)

Even if that was not the case, it would not help you since he is clearly not a beta his version will be a retail one and thus not the same as yours.

Since you are incapable of following instructions either, and go on to break board rules you are here by offically warned as well.

You will recieve a PM shortly.

Since the original posters problem has been solved.
This thread is closed.
