I am having problems with the game on a HP laptop. The type and general resolution of everything is horrible, so bad that I can't even read some things in the game. It makes it unplayable. The laptop is a P4 1.6 with 512 mb of ram so I know that's not it. The video card however is this funky S3 ProsavageDDR 16 mb thingy I never heard of. I tried downloading the newest drivers, but can't get them anywhere. Any know of this problem on laptops or any other advice? Thanks in advance.

You can try to run HOI_Settings.exe (located in your HOI installation directory) which should allow you to change the resolution you run HOI at. Change it to whatever you run Windows at and let us know the results.
That didn't work unfortunately. I can't find any drivers for this garbage video in the laptop either.... I am hoping there is some other fix - I must play this game on this laptop! 
Make sure you have DirectX 8.1
Try and find some newer drivers for your video card.
Play around with the color depth and resolution combos.

That card is a bit old so you may not be able to find drivers for it that will work correctly with DirectX 8.1. Try downloading the drivers from here: http://www.video-drivers.com/drivers/47/47706.htm
I am not sure if they will work with your OS and chipset or not, but thats about the only site I could find that still had them for download.
