Having problems trying to play with a friend on valkeryienet or by IP, if anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

I cannot, for some reason play multiplayer at all. I am able to connect to Vnet, chat with people but when I click the host, or join button nothing happens, it does not freeze or anything it just sits there. The same happens when i try to host a personal game(not connected to Vnet) and join a game by ip.

I have tried all the router fixes that i could possibly do(I have Hub) and all firewall fixes
 
If the problem is that you get the "no game found" message then it's your ports - open the ones Vicky needs. Otherwise, I have no idea what it is. Try to find someone who has a history of being able to host/connect to games and get a game going with them to figure out which of you is the problem, you or your friend (or both).
 
Hi, Bisons was kind enough to post for me, because i was unable to register....

The problem is simply this, when i click host game, nothing happens, no game is created, it just sits there doing nothing. I can keep pressing it over and over and it just sits there. The same can be said for joining a game. It just SITS there doing nothing...

I have 1.03C and zonealarm firewall(which i configured to accept Vicky)
 
You also need to give Microsoft Direct Play helper full access in ZoneAlarm.

I am still having problems. I reinstalled and put in Patch 1.03 and now when i click host or go into Vnet nad try to join a game. It crashes and gives me the standard windows error and asks if i want to send an error report or not.

Im gona try now with zone alarm of now.
 
you need to shut zone alarm down totally, even if you do give access and get in ok, if ZA pops up during the game with some stupid program asking for permission, you are gonna crash. just shut it down.
 
I can get into Vnet - and into the Victoria Vnet lobby - But when I hit host, or click to join it does nothing.

HOWEVER! If the game is a different version it says that the version is not the same. (I am using 1.03c)

Also you add me to Msn or aim? It would be much easyier to get this problem out of the way

dude i think i have the answer to your problem

do you or your friend have the microsoft SP2 that messes with the multiplayer i had the same problem
(you may have it and not know as it automatically downloads)

just look up in google or altavista how to uninstall microsoft service patch 2

i think you can also find the info at microsoft.com

see if that works for you

also make sure you disable the windows firewall for your connection after you uninstall the patch you do this in network connections

uninstall sp2 im serious, ive had problems with it one more than one comp even though its been configured to allow victoria

if anything it would be a good step to help you narrow down what the problem is
