Problems With Patching

So basically here is my problem.
1. If i'am to understand correctly in order to patch you game to the beta patch you must already have your game patched to 2.2?
2. Where can i find a compressed version of the 2.2 patch?
3. Whenever i try to download through the launcher it says "Your current security settings do not allow this file to be downloaded." Why would if say this?

Please if anyone can help me i would be very greatful. Currently i have to go over to another house just to play this game which is quite annoying.

Have you tried manually downloading the patch from GG?

That link dosen't work as the file is not compressed, and non compressed files get deleted as soon as they reach my computer.

3. You must lower the security settings on the machine. Looks like that you can't download .exe files.

So i have finally managed to get the GG 2.2 installer. However when i run it, it says that "EU- Rome Vae Victis is not installed". So i tried moving the installer directly into the EUR folder, however it still says the same thing. Anyone know how to fix this?

Where did you buy the base game? The gg installer does not work with all versions of the game. Retail or gg base game should work fine.

I bought the game from one of the biggest companies here in Canada, so t should be a un modified version of EUR Gold. Which brings me to another question when manually patching the game is there different patches for Vae Victis, and Rome Gold?(Both labelled 2.2)

No, Rome Gold is identical to Rome+VV. Your problem seems to be something in your PC that stops the patcher and won't let you download the patch, presumable an AV app or similar. You will have to modify or disable that app for this purpose.

okay so my brother used some his godly powers (He is a computer tech of sorts) on my computer and all is better now, thankfully. Though i would like to make note of the fact your patch did not auto delete the old launcher so it prevented the patch from installing, the old launched had to be delted manually before the patch would run. Anyways thanks for the the comments.

Yes well my computer has always been kinda bugged even after i reformated from Vista to XP, so maybe it is just my computer.

Also i remember having to screw around with some security settings in order to get it to work, does the launchers for any of Paradoxs games work with FireFox? or do they have to go through IE?
