I am playing as paulician patriarch/Basileus of Armenia and encountered 2 things which seem weird, but since i am a ck2+ noob, maybe im just missing something crucial.
First of all even though i am the Paulician Patriarch i am not able to excommunicate people,i can't even request excommunication nor do it myself.
The second weird thing is that even though there is a paulician ruling Byzantium and a paulician bishop holding the hagia sophia holding there is no patriarchate of constantinople.

1) you probably just don't meet the requirements for that (probably very high piety and/or prestige)
2) paulicians don't get patriarchates, and constantinople is not one of their holy sites. their holy sites are antioch, koloneia, shirvan, alexandria and jerusalem.
3) in the future please direct your questions to Quick Questions, Quick Answers thread.

Reactions:
In the religious tab the patriarchate of constantinople is listed with an empty slot, whereas the patriarchate of antioch exists, since i conquered and established it.
So i guess patriarchates exist but i guess rome and constantinople don't count since they aren't part of the petrine see,but are still wrongly displayed as possible patriarchates?

May i ask why paulicians can't excommunicate,is this based on some historical circumstances or just balancing, since paulicians seems to be quite strong?

yes, you're right i was greping paulican instead of paulician. They get only three seats, not five. constantinople is supposed to be empty.

idk, rylock or schwarherz might know. one thing for sure is that player might be OP if they got to excommunicate anyone.

Yeah, the Paulicians only follow the Petrine Sees: Rome, Antioch, Alexandria. Those are the only patriarchates it gets.

As for why they don't excommunicate: as I recall, it was an issue with the interface not working very well for a player religion head. Regardless, there's no reason to think they would excommunicate any more than they wouldn't. They were more Manichean-based than Christian.

i guess it might be worth checking if it got better. i don't remember anything about it in the changelog. not the best memory though...
