Well, the problem is that everytime i tries to join or host a game I get disconnected after about 30-60 seconds into the game. I have no clue why it should be this way. My machine is clear, no background programs or anything that could take bandwith. I'm using Telia as my ISP. Since I live in Sweden I was wondering if any other swedish players, with perhaps the same ISP, has the same problem.

Take a look through the FAQ it may help. I will move you to the MP forum and see if the experts there can help you.

When you get dropped after 30-60 seconds, was the game paused during that time? And, if it was, were you or any other player issuing orders during that time?

If not, then you have hit the unexplainable disconnect bug I have reported in the bug forum in this thread:

Unfortunately, to date there is very little feedback on it :(

Well, the game was paused when it happend, since we had 2 minutes pause in the begining in to set up everything in all the games I've played. And then it reports that I have lost connection with everybody. However in the last game I played only I where disconected.

The weird thing is that it seems to make the whole connection to the Internet weird. If I try to surf the web after the crash the it reports "site could not be found". I acutally have to either get a new IP-number(ipconfig /release) or restart my ADSL modem.

That is indeed strange. That latter part has never happened for me. My ip connection (with fixed WAN side IP number) remains valid, although I use a NAT enabled ADSL router, and not a ppp connection. Then again, I use WIN98 SE as my OS.

As for the pause, my friend and I (we multiplayer with two players) do the same at the start of a game. However, we have learned two things with this nasty (still unconfirmed bug :()

1) Always keep busy issueing orders while paused. That seems to keep the connection alive.

2) When one of us needs the pause for a lengthy time (ie. > 30 seconds, like for a visit to the toilet), we type a message to the host, stating the reason for the pause and that the host should hit the save button, because the connection will very likely be dropped.

Needless to say, this one showstopper makes multiplayer a real hassle.
