Project: Realistic Unit Names/Types

If you played the game you will notice Basic Transport, Pre-war Tank, Basic Torpedo Plane, etc. This is not realistic and give you no idea which units are what.

The file in HOI that controls this is \Strategy first\Hearts of Iron\config\text.csv. I have started to update it. Germany First.

Some sections are not complete. If you can fill in any of the infro let me know.

My format is clearer to read and shows which type of tank you chose to develop. For example, 20mm light tank, 40mm medium tank. It will show on your build menu now.

To get the updated unit names delete all the current lines MODE_GER_x_x they start at Line 4053 then paste the new ones in. The new ones are longer so make sure you insert blank lines if you need to.

This works and makes the game much better. Hey paradox im fixing your .csv files any chance to take some of this data for 1.02.

Err, don't think so for now Ryeuken... This VERY issue is being worked upon by some dedicated betazoids. They are continously researching new model names. See what is still missing after 1.02, then start your project I would say

I was actually thinking about something like this for some of the secondary(but not minor) countries in the game so they would have unit names as well(even if fictional)

This is great stuff (until 1.02 comes out). For those of us that can't wait 'til Christmas, is there any one place that we can get updated (and of course unsupported) txt and csv files to use?

I've manually made a few tweaks (like the He112 mod), but would love to be able to DL a complete (hopefully tested) file...

I'd love the bit about 20mm/40mm, escort, interceptor, etc being included in the name. Since some names are chosen for roles that don't make sense to me.
