Promoting leaders: - 1 Skill point, Leader does not get promoted

I had a air leader that had 100 exp. I click on promote but he ended up having one skill point taken off and exp = 0 but his rank never went up: he was a maj general and I tried to make him into an Air general I think.

Apart from the bug, it's really silly to promote at 100 exp as u effectively lose all ur exp when u promote.

Shouldn't the exp go to zero and the skill go up by one then?

Similar problem

I have experienced the same thing. I play as Italy and a default air leader advances from skill 0 to 2 through experience. When I promote him he loses 1 skill but he doesn't advance in rank. I promoted him again and now he has 0 skill but is still a major general.

I use patch 1.01
Operating system is win 2000 sp2 with directx 8.1
hardware; intel 2GHz, 512 Mb RAM, GeForce Ti4400

you can`t promote default generals (actually the button is not greyed out, but it doesn`t work).

ONLY historical leaders can be promoted.
