Proper install of Anthology version of Armageddon

I have been trying to run HoI on a new laptop running Win7. I have 4G ram and a Intel dual core brain with compatibility settings on XP sp2. Even have run as admin. But I keep running into issues. I just had to uninstall because I started having lag issues and the screen was boxed (black borders). The checksum was correct for Armageddon 1.1 but then it was ZBYD all of a sudden.

I've read not to install to Program Files but that's where the game automatically installs. Should I install HoI2 then install Armageddon or what? I still haven't been able to get the 1.3 patch to work keep getting error in database messages.

If you have Anthology i recommend the following:

1. Uninstall anything related to HOI2.
2. Install HOI2 Armageddon ONLY from Anthology. Install it to this directory. C:\games\HOI2Arma.
3. Install the 1.2 Arma patch on top of the folder in 2 above.
4. Once that is installed copy the HOI2Arma folder to HOI2Arma12backup.
5. Extact the 1.3 patch files on top of the HOI2Arma folder overwriting all the files.

This should work.

Installed the 1.2 patch and got the error in database message again. I don't get it. Maybe I'm trying to install the wrong patch?

I'm installing the Doomsday-Armageddon patches. Another issue is the checksum is ONZD. Is that a problem?

Strange because I got those patches from this site. I didn't see any Armageddon patches except the 1.1 patch.

Another issue I am having is I'm trying to play this game on Win7 laptop with a 16" screen and I have the resolution set to 1366x768 yet I cannot seem to get the game to go full screen. It has those annoying black borders. I've gone into game properties and changed the window from normal to maximize but no effect. Any ideas?
