Hi i'm new to this game and enjoying it immensely. Currently I'm trying to learn by playing mini powers, using alliances to stomp down super powers (like Austria, Commonwealth). Complex alliances involve all sorts of mutual dislikes among the allies, and can easily unravel unless you work hard to keep them together. Several times I've wanted to sell a province to friend or foe, but so far no luck finding even the smallest piece of green in the yes/no bar -- even when its their core and the notes on their country say they want it BADLY. Once I even gifted the 200 ducats to the ally who wanted a province so he could buy it effectively for free, but again, an all-red NO even though the notes are saying he desperately wants it and that desire is eroding my good standing with him. So my suggestion is that the devs should think about adding more "province deals" options, like swapping provinces or simply giving one away for nothing to a valuable ally (e.g. one with same religion as yourself and the province being traded).

Along with this, I would like to see a "buy province" option. So you can see if any of the provinces can be bought from nearby countries.

Are you, by any chance, trying to sell HRE provinces?

The AI will never buy those unless it has a core on them, because of the Unlawful Territory mechanic.

because they had a sell province feature in the past that was exploited soooooooo much with vassal feeding that most countries are unwilling to take on land or give land for that matter. Unless it's a client state then you can give the land away for free

This is very unlikely that it will ever be added since no matter how stalwart we make the AI for it, it will be exploited to high heavens.
You know as well as anyone that there will always be loopholes for aggressive players to exploit. The only thing that balancing according to exploitability accomplishes is imposing artificial restrictions and undue punishments on people who already take a plausible roleplaying approach to the game.

Ahh yes, they are indeed HRE provinces I was trying to sell ; thanks for the clarification

Side note: You can move the slider so you can sell it for less than 200 ducats. In other words, you /can/ give it away for free; you don't have to gift money first.

But yes, grommile diagnosed your problem. :)

Yes I think so. In the meantime I've successfully sold Anjou to France (playing Brittany) for around the 200 mark, and obviously non HRE
