When the unification of Germany event kicks in single player, Germany gets the south German culture, when playing as Prussia.

This however does not happen in multiplayer. From experience I realise I have never gotten the South German culture.

I am sure that this bug is known, and I think I know this is a result of the annex-crash issue in multiplayer.

But incase it is not known or if it is an entirely different issue as to why it occurs, here you go.

I mean southern germans as a national culture, and Prussia never starts any scenario with Southern Germans as a national culture.

Are you using a mod by any chace?

in the vanilla GC, prussia only has north german culture.
The annex bug, means that there is a very high chance that the game will crash partway thru the unification events being processed... so far as i can tell from what noddy is saying, all the inheritance type stuff is happening, but the culture change part of the event is not happening.
However, it would seem to me that this is all caused by the annex bug, and also the connected chat script bug (whereby the game crashes as soon as anyone initiates the chat system after a player nation changes name)
Im gonna assume (and i hope thats not optomistic) that both these bugs are fixed in 1.04

Simply 1.03c

Well in my version of Victoria (which isn't exactly the same as 1.03C but is not a mod) Prussia has South German Culture.

Okay, well from all the people I have spoken to about this in the MP community it seems they are in the same situation with Prussia.

We all use 1.03c + a small custom mod which doesn't change anything to do with cultures/Prussia.

Anyway, if you look at the Unification of Germany event; ID = 3010, you will see it is supposed to add the South German culture as a national culture to when Prussia unifies Germany.

It didn't happen 3 seperate times. All I want to be sure of if this problem (which I believe is as a result of the annex-bug issue in MP) has been addressed OR if this is a seperate problem altogether.

And to describe further why I think it is the annex-bug problem;

Firstly I get the Conservative Empire event on April 21st 1851. (Or the Three Hurrahs, as these were the two ways I experienced it).
That fires fine, but still crashes anyway. But I get all the results of the event because its an event that triggers by date and as a result of me clicking it, the crash happens (in mp).
Then a few days later, all the German minors join and I crash. I should get an event (ID = 3010) in this case again, but because all the German minors have an alliance with me or whatever, the game can't handle all that and so because I crash, the event gets lost, and I dont get the South German culture aspect of the event.

That is what I think the problem is. I am sure it is simply a case of fixing the mp-annex bug problem, but I just want to say nevertheless to be sure. :)

Well this bug report is getting less about South German Culture and more and more about Multiplayer problems.

Yes, that is correct King.

It is fine in single player, but a problem in multiplayer.

Do you think this is a problem that has already been addressed?

I can't say that is covered by NDA. Primarliy because a problem can appear to be fixed and then you find out at the last minute that it's not. I don't want to give you guys information that turns out to be untrue. So the rule no info on bugs being fixed till the very last minute. However, we are endervoring to look at all outstanding bugs and making sure that fixed ones are in fact fixed.
