Hi, posted in the general chat but no dice so trying here.

It appears I have a version of the game that doesn't allow the delete option when using a tree brush size greater than 'single'. I had it on the ps4 edition and still have this issue on ps5.

Watching a youtube from noobuildscities and he is able to set the brush and delete in bulk. Why can't I?

I don't believe this is a feature on console yet, I know it has been suggested before though

Ive been having this same issue intermittently for years on ps4 and now also on ps5 in both CS and Remastered. Some days it works and others it doesn’t. I haven’t noticed if it’s particular maps or anything either.

Intermittently? That is very weird. The only way that I can remove them is with the single tree brush, but it takes an age to do. Royal pain. What I don't understand is how it works for some and not others. I play left hand roads, I know sometimes that doesn't get much testing so is that related? Others seem to think the auto bulldoze settings make a difference, they don't for me.

Xbox one x/PS4
The receipt in my disc case for my Xbox game reads August 19 2018. I have never been able to delete more than one tree at a time. I do not remember when I bought the PlayStation digital version but again I have never been able to delete trees in mass. Though I agree it would be nice.
Please remember this is a Paradox forum. They are the publisher not and not the developers, that's Colossal Order. And the console version is handled by contract with Tantalus. I occasionally see posts from CO and Paradox though not usually from Tantalus. I wouldn't expect an official response as I do not think it's a bug, just a console limitation. Either Tantalus could not make it work or did not think it was necessary.
If it comes in the last updates great, but if not it will not stop me from playing. Upgrading to newer systems is not in the budget right now. 25 tiles as a cheat is not worth it either. I normally play through the Milestone progression. Just my opinion, not a argument.

Bulk remove trees works fine on console editions in all but one size. Go to landscaping icon, trees tab, select any tree, use dpad left or right to alter the brush size, which goes single - small - medium - large. Then hold down the square button (X on Xbox) and all the trees under the brush will start to disappear, though it is not instant. A heavily wooded area on large cursor might take 4-5 seconds to clear out.

The small sized brush does not work. Medium and large work fine on PS4 and PS5 ver, assume this willl be the same on Xbox versions

Just tried again in both systems. Bulk tree removal did not function. One tree at a time only. Though curiously it deleted rocks and fallen trees. I've used the various brush sizes when deleting abandoned buildings and other items. But unfortunately it has never worked on trees. Thanks for the suggestion, I hoped it would work.

You're using the bulldozer. Don't use the bulldozer. Follow the instructions in my previous post by selecting the tree tab in the landscape category ie. as if you were going to place a tree

One tree yes, multiple trees no.

You're still using bulldozer mode. Don't use bulldozer mode

From my post before:

. Go to landscaping icon, trees tab, select any tree, use dpad left or right to alter the brush size, which goes single - small - medium - large. Then hold down the square button (X on Xbox) and all the trees under the brush will start to disappear,

Explicit steps using PS controls; for Xbox cross=A, L1/R1=LB/RB, square=X:

1. Use the dpad to move the cursor to the landscaping icon and press the cross button
2. Use the r1 button/l1 button to move the cursor to the tree icon
3. Use the dpad to select any tree
4. Press the cross button
5. Use the dpad left and right to select from the four brush sizes
6. Use the dpad u pand down to select the brush strength
7. Hold down the square button to start removing trees under the brush

Note that small brush does not work, medium and large do work

OMG that is a fiddly feature. I finally got it to work as I was about to post again. Select 1 tree then expand as if your going to plant multiple trees(which I do regularly). then hit delete on either system. Would have been nice to know years ago. Thanks.

So you guys must have a different version to me... Are you by chance in US? For me, bulk trees doesn't work, even following the steps outlined. Ps. I was not talking about the bulldozer. Also @RenengadeDragon the support team told me to log on here for a response after I sent a video of it not working. That's why I logged it here.

There's only one console version and one remastered version for PS4 and PS5 respectively, same for Xbox one/XSX, and the one version of the Win10 edition. The feature works (though is well hidden) across the console and remastered version. Don't know about the Win10 version, and it isn't on the PC ver unless you use a mod. If you're unable to use it, then without trying to be condescnding its very much user error, or possibly game file/console related. Follow the steps again to the letter and describe at which step it fails and how it fails. Also wipe the game from your drive and reinstall and reupdate, and also delete your save files from the console to allow fresh start (copy them to USB first obv)

I worked in IT support mate so don't worry I'm totally cool with what you're saying, I'm very happy if it is user error but I swear the steps mentioned are what I'm doing. Doesn't matter how big the brush is for me it doesn't delete any trees. I'll try and record it.

Ps. It was the same on ps4 edition, and my ps5 is brand new with a brand new install of ps4 edition and now remastered, it can't possibly be save file/hardware related.
I do not own all DLCs or CCPs, so im willing to bet this must be a fix /feature added by stealth in one of those if I am indeed not being a simpleton

I live in Ohio USA. I'm 58 and have been gaming since Pong. And worked for GameStop for 10 years including being a store manager. I had tried on numerous occasions and never got it to work. But I got it now. Plant a tree. Expand the tool by using your D pad only , a green circle should appear, plant a group of trees. Press either the X button or Square button and delete a group of trees. It is way to easy to end up in the bulldoze tool, but it does work. It is not the most intuitive mechanic. Look how many posts this has taken to explain a mechanic that may have been there the whole time. Thanks y'all.
