[PS4] Schools not giving traits?

I finally was able to get my colony to start having children regularly so I built a dome specifically for children. Nursery, schools, etc. So I currently have 5 graduates from the school, but none of them have any of the traits that I have selected in the school. Are schools bugged?

Traits started appearing after the 6th graduate. So not sure what was going on. All the children were sent to the nursery next to the school right when born so it shouldn't have been a timing issue.
