"Tears unnumbered ye shall shed; and the Valar will fence Valinor against you, and shut you out, so that not even the echo of your lamentation shall pass over the mountains. On the House of Fëanor the wrath of the Valar lieth from the West unto the uttermost East, and upon all that will follow them it shall be laid also. Their Oath shall drive them, and yet betray them, and ever snatch away the very treasures that they have sworn to pursue. To evil end shall all things turn that they begin well; and by treason of kin unto kin, and the fear of treason, shall this come to pass. The Dispossessed shall they be for ever..."

Quenta Silmarillion is a total conversion mod for Crusader Kings II utilizing several assets from the Middle-Earth Project. Featuring an extensive map of all of the western Middle-Earth from the Ered Luin to the Belegaer featured in the titular First Age chronicle of The Silmarillion, the mod will allow players to experience the War of the Jewels in its entirety from Y.T. 1496 to F.A. 587. While the inherent goals for characters from each race will be different, the unifying factors of survival, conquest, and dynastic prestige will be the focus of the campaign, as any Vanilla player is familiar with.

A much darker setting than either Vanilla CKII or the Middle-Earth Project, existence in Beleriand in the First Age is a great struggle. Expect as a dynasty of "immortal" elves to experience dozens of deaths in battle, as the hordes of Morgoth dwarf those of Sauron in the later ages.

While the primary goal of this mod is to simply bring Beleriand and its legendary inhabitants to life, specific events and quests bound to particular characters and realms from the book will be implemented over time. Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The alpha release will be compatible with Monks & Mystics. Please post your questions, requests, and criticisms here!

The handsome lad in the upper left of the terrain preview picture is the crazy bastard himself!
Then the kingdoms on the map would need to be much different if you have a bookmark set in Fëanor's lifetime.

Also.. Maybe rework the armours, or at least remove the helmets and stuff? Now, this is a subjective opinion, but I've always hated how CK2 handles helmets and headgear like that. Since they obscure the character's face.

I'm working currently on new helmets/crowns/armors for First Age characters :)

Also, what interpretations are you using for the characters? Because the Sons of Finarfin are lionized while the Feanorians are too often demonized.
I'm using whatever I can find, but imagining some more complexity than exists. I agree about the lionization/demonization, but playing as paragons and antiheroes can be pretty fun. It matches the tone as well.

Lonhaldar and I are looking into the headgear issues. And as far as the de jure kingdoms, that was just for an example. I have some planned differences for Faenor's time, with the borders more fitting for the native sindar populations.

Maedhros laughed, saying: 'A king is he who can hold his own, or else his title is in vain. Thingol does but grant us lands where his power does not run.'

-- Of the Return of The Noldor (The Silmarillion)

Thingol's de jure better not be large.

Maedhros, giving Thingol the definition of 'rekt'.

Ah, the Northern Sindar and all that. Could be interesting to have an event chain with them and the Noldor. Also, to account for their differences with the Doriath Sindar, who disliked them.
