Ok, so let's say that I select my deity to be Athena, and inside her temple are 2 relics. I understand that if I don't own that temple, I don't get any of the relic perks.

However, let's say that I do own this Temple to Athena, and store two relics inside, but I choose to worship a different Hellenic deity of culture. Even though I own the Athena temple and the relics, do I get the relic bonuses, or are they only active if I select Athena's omen power?

In addition, what happens to other Holy Site and relic bonuses for Temples/relics that YOU own, but are not currently worshiping? Like if I own the Temple of Hades, but choose to worship Athena (deity of culture) instead. Do I get the Hades relic bonuses if he is 'selected' as my deity of economy, but NOT the one that I have currently chosen to receive Omen power?

Bonuses from relics only apply to the province (note: not territory) that the holy site is in, not your whole nation.

They are completely separate from pantheon or omen bonuses - so you can get bonuses from holy sites not of your religion (or from outside your pantheon) if the holy site happens to still have a relic in it - but it will only benefit the province in which the holy site is located.

You can find out what the holy site bonuses (including the relics) do by hovering over the holy site icon in the territory screen (top right). :)

Ah ok... Thanks.

So let's say that Mars has some good relics, but I want to go with Athena's Omen power. Even though I select Athena, Mars' relic abilities will still be active?
Yes, as long as Mars' holy site is owned by you.

Ok... last variable.

Let's say I have two relics in a Mars temple. Mars is a God of War, but I choose a different God of War (like Poseidon). Will I continue to reap the benefits of Mars' relics if Poseidon is my God of War (and Mars is no longer on the Deity/Religion screen)?

As long as you own the territory with the Holy Site, yes.

Relics are completely separate from any deities in the pantheon, with a small caveat. You only get the benefits of the relics in the province in which the Holy Site that contains the relics is located - and you can only *add* relics to Holy Sites for deities in your pantheon (but still get the benefits - across the province - of the relics in a holy site that you own - even if the deity isn't of your religion).

It's a slightly awkward system, IMHO, but hopefully this clarifies things a bit!

In summary: Relics and Omens are unrelated. Relics in a Holy Site ALWAYS provide the bonus to their owner's whole Province regardless of State Religion, Pantheon Deities, or active Omens. And of course, you may only ADD relics to the owned Holy Site of one of your Pantheon Deities. Is that everything in a nutshell?
