I have a game going playing Aden, they are sunni muslim. as i understand it the sunni muslims get no yearly settler allowance i guess thats historical. the shiite get two settlers a year though.

here is the question.

Is there any way i can change my state religion from sunni to shiite, obviously i dont want to expand by warfare, rather i want to colonize but as a sunni i cant do it, if i was shiite i would have better chances.

in the religion portion all i show is sunni, it wont let me click to convert to shiite. my tolerance level i switched to all shiite but all that happened was mass revolt never a conversion. so i guess im stuck with sunni all game?

any wya to change that?

thanks for help

If I don't remember wrong neither the shiite get any colonists from their religion either, it's a typo in the manual. I'm not 100% on that but almost, so it is sort of 'solution' to your problem :)

Cobos

ok the next question would then be. How do i hack the files so that i can give the muslims atleast one settler a year or two years?

whats interesting is i see turkey colonizing like a mad dog, how do they do that if they dont get settlers as a sunni muslim. i mean they have made cities out of nothing and tones of colonies, how do they do that?

thanks for help

No need to hack the files, my friend. The only drawback with the plan below is that it won't let you become a great colonial power, but what Muslim country ever has? It will, however, make you a superpower:

1. Take Mamuluke and Persian Territory (with the help of Turkey, Oman and all other Sunni Muslim nations you can befriend), as they are both Shiite. Persian territory will grant you enormous funds due to their large population and income through trade.

2. Try to vassalise the small nations in North Africa (Cyrenica, Tunisia, etc.). Do a diplomatic annexation.

3. By now you should be quite powerful and possibly able to vassalise the Muslim nations south of Russia as well as the larger nations, as Algeria and Nubia, in Africa. Do a diplomatic annexation on these guys as well.

4. Now would be the time to invade the European mainland with the help of the Turks.

5. Maybe now, you will be able to build a shipyard and get one settler a year, but I doubt if it will be worth the trouble, because all the christians will hate you and destroy all attempts you make to build a colonial empire.

;)

what is colonial dynamism? cant find it in faq

as for being a super power, thats not what i mean. i just want to know if i can get the option to either change my muslim religion, and or be able to get colonists to be able to build a muslim colonial power. yes its not historical but rewriting history is what this game is all about, right?

so i was wondering how to best go about that.

thanks yall for the help
