When a hivemind ruler levels up it can sometimes get an expertise trait as an option but at the bottom of the trait it says "Some effects might be disabled when the Leader is the Empire's Ruler".

Does anyone know what is actually working and what isn't?

The Research Speed Bonus Works.

The Chance Increase does not.

Good to know, thanks. Seems weird to have that part not work.

I wonder why they did things this way instead of just removing the line that doesn't actually work, thats what they did for Fertility Preacher for machines, they removed the food bonus.

Wow, that's surprising. The chance bonus can be kind of annoying for gestalts since it's such a pain to switch out, but silently disabling it on the ruler is a weird thing to do.

how do you know?
Erm completely forgot about this one but I'm pretty sure my thought process at the time was process by elimination, since that you do actually get research bonus from your Ruler and I don't know how to reliably test for tech weight.

But I didn't read the other posts and completely forgot about technocracy:
That's probably about the bonus you can get on a planet if you are a technocracy.
This one is correct, I'm pretty sure It is a UI bug though.
