Something that I think could enhance game play, but I'm not sure how to do it -
Does anyone know what program files (in what directories) actually define what sprite gets assigned to the different units? For ex., say you wanted to be able to have your improved fighters be represented by proper sprites - the Bf-109 sprite *and* the FW-190 sprite. Both of these are 'Level 2' sprites (L-2) in the .bmp and .spr files, so seems like you have to use one or the other, but can't use both. This is sorta frustrating, since it would be cool to be able to tell at a glance what the units are, which can be hard when your Bf-190k units show up with the generic (& incorrect) L-2 Focke Wulf sprite. So, where in the program files would I go to to tell the game, basically, 'for Bf-109s, insert L-2 sprite,' or, 'for FW-190s, insert L-3 sprite'?
My guess was to go to the fighter.txt in db/units directory, but can't seem to figure out how these files assign sprites to the different units, if these are even the right files to be looking at -
