It's possible, but it would be fiddly and none of the pre Essos versions are compatible with the latest version of CK2.
One thing to remember is that it's more then just the events and the dragon graphics. You will also need the character files for the Targs so that they will have the relevant new traits, otherwise they all end up as technically being dragons and thus incapable.
