Hey just wondering what friends do for your characters in the game. And if that could be answered. Do they have different effects for different roles of characters - I.E. Your king's friend, and a court members friend.

Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks!

Well, i think there is a loyalty bonus. (Just as there is a loyalty penalty for a Rival - something to remember if your Spymaster is a sworn enemy).

A king's friend is likely to start generating a web of alliances if he too is a ruler. Friend's friends, enemy's enemies. Etc.

And if a married couple are friends to each, i believe this might increase the odds a new heir is added to the dynasty.

Probably other stuff. Friends good, rivals bad. Usually. It is CK after all. Who knows what courtiers will get up to.
:D

I THINK it costs more prestige to grab a claim from a friend? It costs less to grab one from a rival, but I can't remember how much less offhand. Also, opposite gender friends are usually treated as lovers which can cause some tensions in court depending on who they are.

Yea it does, it's 2x and 0.5x respectively. And yea essentially if you have an opposite gender friend all events are coded to look at that as lovers, excepting your spouse (which makes you immune to most infidelity events).
