Quick Question

I have recently started playing HOI again after several months of disappointing wait for a better patch and 1.05 did the trick. But, when looking through the forums, I discovered the forum for the Great War Mod. I have looked at the website and read many threads, yet....

I am unclear when it is scheduled to be released. Sorry if this has been discussed but I have only been back for about 4 days. SO, any help would be well appreciated.

Oh, I found a thread which tells of the release of Christmas. Say it ain't so! Damn it, can't you just give up life as you know it to work on this? Like say, move your computer to the same room as your fridge, the toilet as your seat, so then you would never need to get up and could perpetually stay seated and working? Well?

Anyways, I understand the need for time as Rome was not built in a day (or so they say). Yet, this is not what I needed to hear. 'Victoria' is out in late fall (which will probably glue my attention), along with the arrival of Cossacks II - Napoleonic Wars (long awaited for me) and the coming of Halo 2. Curse, this late arrival time of the Great War Mod!

it will be interesting to see how the Great War mod will compare to the WW1 Section of Victoria

Good question. I was thinking this myself when I first saw theis mod, and perhaps it may be better, as the HOI game itself, is just for war, and not so much empire building, as I am assuming that is more along the lines of what 'Victoria' is, and WWI is not it's only focus. Since Great War is strictly exclusive to WWI, it may simulate that area better.

Christmas, does at this time seem like a reasonable estimate. There is still plenty of work to do, not to mention testing the game to make sure that events, leader lists etc work properly.

The idea of spending 24 hours a day working on the mod, whilst on the toilet, strangely, doesn't appeal to me too much Nevertheless, everyone's working as hard as possible......

I have heard of 'craptops' but that seems a bit excessive.
