There should be an option in game to more or less 'pillage' individual provinces. This should give a small, one time economic boost to the pillaging nation, while giving a small but permanent economic loss to the province being pillaged, a decrease in population, and a permanent decrease in the province's supply line.

Minor raids should be possible, maybe u could fund them but make no gain from them economically, but weaken the nation u raided by cutting their income. :)
And...there could be a failiure chance, so if they fail and maybe get captured, the nation/duchy/whatever could get a Temp. CB on u since the soldiers prolly gave up info under torture.

no temp cb in this game.
In those days raiding was no reason for a war, you just send a raiding party of your own.:D

Aye plus the fact that it didn´t benefit the state. The eventual surplus from those raids got into the raiders pockets. That´s why there were always volounteers for them.

It could be fun to see your vassals raid eachother.
Maybe you could raid and ask money to stop raiding.

When I heard you can only DoW if you have a claim, I got even more excited about CK. Now, don't tell me the game is going to be full of raiding parties in times of peace...

No randomm raids please, it should depend on the current state of your realm. A weakly defended realm in turmoil should be easy to raid.

I also think that a raiding/pillaging option should be included. It was a fundamental part of medieval warfare.

However, I would suggest that raiding (small scale warfare) should be linked to ssome preconditions.

The success of a raid should then depend on the fortification level and the amount of nobles/knight within the county.

Good thinking. There have to be some way of ensuring that it doesn´t happen short of staging an army in the county. Otherwise we will have a bit of rage from the gamers I think.

There should be some penalty for getting too carried away with raiding. Excommunication, outlawing, etc. may be too strong but maybe something less drastic such as a forced contribution to the church for penace or lower relations with your King and fellow landholders. If you persist in continued nonsocial behavior, the heavier hammers could then fall. That's what happened to the MacGregors.:D
